The Spring Garden
We provide services at this time of year to generally tidy the garden of winter clutter and excess leaf drop, mulch the soil in beds, start weeding, pruning shrubs with coloured winter stems and hedges can start to be trimmed to encourage bushy growth. Lawns need spring feed and can start to be mown at the begining of April.
The Spring garden generally begins in March. Beware however, the weather can still fluctuate between mild sun, hard frost and bitter winds during the earlier months of Spring. Seasons are less dependable these days and can vary dramatically.
Spring in the UK moves up from the south to the north over March and April, bulbs will start to deliver welcome parcels of colour around the garden.
We start taking care of the weed seedlings and look out for pest infestations starting, the earlier these can be caught the better for your garden later in the year.
Be causcious buying bedding plants from the garden centre too early in the season, unless you have a snug, frost free place to plant them or a greenhouse you are better to wait a few weeks until the milder temperatures are more consistent.
